Groupon - Obagi Radiance Peel
Run Dates: March 26-27, 2011
What are the office hours of Phoenix Skin? Phoenix Skin is open Monday - Thursday from 7am to 5pm and Friday from 7am to 11am
.
How long does the peel take? About 30 minutes
What is Obagi? Obagi Medical Products, Inc., is a specialty pharmaceutical company and leading provider of proprietary topical aesthetic and therapeutic clinically-proven skin care systems in the physician-dispense market.
Is this the same as the Obagi Blue Peel? Obagi offers two types of peels - the Blue Peel and the Blue Peel Radiance. Our Groupon special is for the Blue Peel Radiance (Radiance Peel for short). This is a light-medium depth “lunchtime” peel. This means that it works superficially in the skin and causes very little redness or peeling.
Who is a good candidate for the Radiance Peel? This peel is great for patients with sun damage, fine lines and those looking for overall improvement in texture and tone. It is safe for darker skin types, but not recommended for patients with a sunburn, rosacea, or other inflammatory skin disorders. Patients who are taking Accutane for acne may not have this or any chemical peel until 6 months after their final dose.
Will one peel fix everything? Patients report brighter and smoother skin skin after one treatment, but as with most chemical peels, multiple treatments are usually recommended to create long term results. Patients may purchase up to three peels with our Groupon today.
How long do I have to wait between peels? 4-6 weeks
What happens during the peel? Your skin will be cleansed, then the liquid peel solution will be applied to the skin. The peel is left on for ten minutes total. You will feel some mild to moderate tingling for the first few minutes and then it will subside. After 10 minutes, we remove the peel and apply sunscreen.
How should I prepare for the peel? Please avoid use of the following products and procedures for 5-7 days prior to the peel: laser hair removal, waxing, depilatory creams, and electrolysis. Also avoid use of the following products for 3 days prior to the peel: Topical retinoids and tretinoin (such as Retin-A, Renova, Differing, Tazorac and Refissa) as well as acids or exfoliants that may be drying or irritating to the skin (such as alpha hydroxy acids, beta hydroxy acids, exfoliating masks, retinols, hydroquinone and benzoyl peroxide acne products).
How long should I avoid the sun? It is advised that you wear a high spf sunscreen and reapply as directed when outdoors. If you hike or are outside everyday for long periods of time, we suggest wearing a wide-brimmed hat. Chemical peels create photosensitivity, so these protective steps should be taken for no less than 14 days post peel. Complications may occur if these steps are not taken.
What should I do to care for my skin after the peel? Avoid washing your face for 6-12 hours. Only use a gentle cleanser and avoid any scrubs or loofahs for 5 days. Unprotected sun exposure and tanning should be avoided for 14 days to reduce any adverse reactions. Excessive heat (hot tub, sauna, hot showers, and excessive perspiration) should also be avoided for the first two days. Topical Rx creams and glycolic acid should be avoided for 5 days. SPF is mandatory after any chemical peel treatment, as your skin will be more sensitive to the sun for 14 days.
Is the Radiance Peel safe for women who are pregnant or nursing? No. The high content of salicylic acid makes this an unsafe peel for pregnant and nursing women.
What will my skin look like after the peel? You will be pink for about an hour post treatment. Peeling will be minimal for most patients, especially those who are used to getting regular chemical peels. If you experience any peeling, it will occur the 2nd or 3rd day after your peel. It should be fairly mild and may feel a little dry. A nice moisturizer will help to control any peeling or flaking. Post peel kits may be purchased from our offices to help maximize your peel results and ease any flaking.
Back to work after the peel? Special event this weekend? Avoid makeup application for the first 6-12 hours, but you may absolutely return to work right away. If you are not used to chemical peels, it may be best to give yourself 7 days before a special event. Though peeling is minimal, this will give your skin plenty of time to stabilize and return to normal.
Is it safe to use the Radiance Peel on my face if I use Retin A? You must discontinue use of retin a, differin, renova, tazorac, etc no less than 5 days prior to your peel. Hydroquinone, glycolic acid and Benzoyl peroxide should also be avoided 2 days prior to a chemical peel. These creams may be re started 5 days post peel.

Groupon - BOTOX
Run Date: November 4, 2010
To learn more about Botox, please click
Phoenix Botox.
Q: "$99 for Botox"...What does $99 get me?
A: The $99 Groupon botox is good for one area of botox: forehead, in between brows (glabella) or eyes (crows feet).
Q: Why does Phoenix Skin charge for botox by the area when most places charge by the unit?
A: Phoenix Skin charges by the area, not the unit. This is a great benefit for patients because most end up having to spend extra money when specials are limited to botox in "units". By offering a special $99 price per area, it ensures patients will get the amount of botox necessary (varies per individual) to achieve the desired result without having to pay for extra "units". Plus, most people don't know how many units they need per area, so purchasing in "units" can be confusing, misleading and expensive.
Q: What is the value/retail price for each area of botox?
A: Forehead: $300
In Between Brows (Glabella): $250
Eyes: $250
Q: How much experience do the providers at Phoenix Skin have with botox?
A: Phoenix Skin's providers have been safely injecting botox since 1998. To read more about our staff, please click
here.
Q: Is botox for men and women?
A: Yes! Both men and women experience the same, fabulous results from using botox. In fact, botox is the most popular minimally invasive physician administered aesthetic procedure for males.
Q: Can botox treat smile lines (nasolabial folds) or "smokers lines"?
A: Botox does not, but dermal facial fillers certainly do! To read more about our fillers, please click
facial fillers.
Q: May I schedule an appointment for Groupon botox as well as another service?
A: Absolutely! When you call to make your Groupon botox appointment, please tell the receptionist about the additional service you would like to add that day. Keep in mind, our aestheticians and certified physician’s assistants all specialize in different services, so you might see two people that day.
Q: I noticed there are a few cosmetic surgery specials being run for the eyelid lift, mini face lift and laser resurfacing. May I schedule a consultation at the same time as my Groupon botox appointment?
A: Absolutely! Dr. Laris’ assistants handle all of his cosmetic bookings, so please call (602) 222-9111 x 350. Tell them you would like to make your Groupon botox appointment as well as schedule a cosmetic consultation.
Q: How long will I have to wait for my Groupon botox appointment?
A: The receptionists at each location will do their best to accommodate your date and time requests. Please keep in mind, the next few months are very busy due to the holidays but rest assured, we have a full staff of certified providers here to execute your Groupon botox appointment with care and precision.
Q: Do I need to tip or leave a gratuity for my Groupon botox treatment?
A: No
Q: May I combine my Groupon botox special with Botox Night?
A: Unfortunately you cannot combine the Groupon botox special with Botox Night because the Groupon special is extremely discounted (and don't worry, the Groupon botox offer is much more discounted than our botox night).
