About PRP

Cellenis Derma PRP

PRP, or platelet-rich plasma is a highly concentrated serum made from a patient’s blood commonly used for healing and rejuvenation cosmetic treatments. The platelets are suspended in plasma and separated from red blood cells through centrifugation (fast-speed spinning). When the blood spins this fast, the components separate by density, allowing for the platelets to be used without including the other elements of the blood that are not useful like the red blood cells. (1)

Since the solution is specific to the individual, the treatment has an extremely low likelihood of rejection. To aid the body’s natural processes, platelets stick to damaged vessel walls, forming a plug that primes the area and helps it to heal. This is exactly how they can work to correct wrinkles and fine lines during PRP injection treatments. (1)

PRP also stimulates the production of these important skin elements:

  • Collagen
  • Elastin
  • Fibroblasts

These qualities make PRP biologically sound and great for skin rejuvenation and healing.

What is Cellenis Derma PRP?

Cellenis Derma PRP is an extended-release autologous gel made from your own blood that supports skin revitalization in your dermis to enhance the youthful appearance of your skin. It provides immediate volume and helps support dermal health over time by releasing proteins and growth factors.

What does the treatment involve?

Your provider collects a small blood sample from you. The blood is spun and processed. This allows the proteins in the blood to be restructured in a more densely organized scaffolding network to help support soft tissue. This feature makes it an ideal addition to your current beauty regimen to maintain the youthfulness of the skin.

What is the treatment like?

The treatment is minimally invasive. Injections are done with a needle or cannula depending on the area being injected. You will receive topical numbing medication prior to treatment in order to make it as comfortable as possible.

How many treatments are required?

The number of treatments is based on the patient’s individual needs. Typically patients will require 1-2 treatments per area. Your providers will discuss your individual concerns and needs and recommend a treatment plan specifically customized for you. Immediately after the injections, swelling will occur and exaggerate your results. However, over the 7-14 days following treatment, the swelling will subside and your natural results will last up to six months. A second treatment can be completed 6-8 weeks after the first session.

How long do treatments last?

A minimum of 2 treatments 6-8 weeks apart with repeat sessions every 6-8 months is recommended for maximum results.

What is the difference between Cellenis Derma PRP and Cellenis PRP?

Cellenis Derma PRP

Cellenis PRP is a liquid derived from your own blood that is best used for hair regrowth (injected into the scalp) or applied to the skin via micro-needling. Cellenis Derma PRP, is known for its regenerative properties. The Cellenis Derma PRP’s proprietary processing can convert your body’s proteins into a gel-like structure that can support dermal architecture, it is slowly reabsorbed by the body over a period of 4-6 months..

Am I an Ideal Candidate for Cellenis Derma PRP?

Cellenis Derma PRP

To be a good candidate for this treatment, you must have healthy platelet function. If you have a platelet disorder like thrombocytopenia, you do not produce a high enough platelet count for PRP to be utilized. (2) Ideal candidates are in good overall health and have reasonable expectations for what the procedure can achieve.

Personal Consultation

At Phoenix Skin, we offer personal consultations with our experienced and educated staff for all of our patients. When you meet with one of our providers, they will examine your face closely to determine the best treatment plan. If you are coming in for a facial resurfacing treatment, it is the perfect opportunity to ask us what Cellenis Derma PRP can do to improve your results. We will ask about your medical history and what medications you are currently taking. You may be asked to alter or discontinue use if any of them interfere with the injections.

Preparation

To best prepare for your Derma PRP treatment, please avoid anti-inflammatory medications and certain supplements like Vitamin E for at least two weeks before your appointment. This treatment requires a blood draw, so make sure to eat a nutritious meal beforehand so you will not feel faint. Please stay well hydrated before and after your procedure as well. Cellenis PRP is a simple treatment that requires virtually no downtime, so you may drive yourself to and from our facilities comfortably.

Cellenis PRP Process and Injection

This procedure starts with your provider drawing a small sample of your blood. The blood is then placed into the Cellenis centrifugation machine and spun very quickly until the platelets can be extracted. Your provider removes the platelet-poor plasma first, leaving only the useful PRP, separation gel, and red blood cells. Then, the PRP is carefully removed and prepared for injection by transferring it to small, 2 ml syringes. (2)

The PRP is injected into the mapped-out treatment area, and your provider pays careful attention to where it is being placed. Once through with the injection, the treatment is over, only taking around 30 to 45 minutes to complete.

Recovery

After the treatment, you might experience tenderness in the area. The most common side effects are transient, including redness, mild to moderate swelling, and bruising. Side effects typically resolve within 7 days. Avoid any strenuous workouts in the three days following your PRP injection treatment and do not to rub the treatment areas as this could disturb the plasma and negatively affect your overall results. It is also best if you stay out of the sun the following week, and if you can’t avoid it, make sure to wear adequate sun protection. Most patients tolerate the procedure without any difficulty as we are harnessing your body’s own natural components with virtually no chance of rejection or an allergic reaction.

This system uses a medical-grade device to separate the platelets designed to process both 11ml and 22 ml of product. It is versatile, safe, and biocompatible, utilizing high platelet concentration by giving the physician the power to control product volumes.

The Cellenis PRP system uses a Separator Gel to improve the biological profile of the PRP before injection. Cellenis PRP gives physicians the ability to completely control, and accurately predict the amount of platelets injected at any given time.

Can Cellenis Derma PRP be combined with other treatments?
