Lee Laris, D.O.
Practicing in the valley since 1992, Dr. Lee Laris is the Medical Director and Chief Cosmetic Surgeon of Phoenix Skin Dermatology. Dr. Laris graduated from Gannon University in 1981 and continued his education at the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific where he received his Medical Degree in 1987. His internship was completed at Grandview Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.

Dr. Laris is highly trained in all areas of medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology and has built a national reputation as a facial rejuvenation specialist. Dr. Laris is recognized for his use of minimal incision surgery, with a focus on restoring youth via less invasive methods such as mini face lift, laser resurfacing, botox, fat transfer/dermal fillers and hair transplantation. Dr. Laris is one of the first certified hair transplant surgeons by the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgeons.
Dr. Laris is a board-certified Fellow of the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology. He is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, California Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, American Osteopathic Association, Phoenix Dermatologic Society and Arizona Osteopathic Medical Association. Dr. Laris has been an Arizona Dermatologist for over 20 years.
John Stathakis, D.O.
A United States Navy veteran from New Jersey, Dr. John Stathakis has been practicing medical and surgical dermatology in the Valley since 1981. Dr. Stathakis graduated with a biology degree from LaSalle College and then continued his medical education at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he obtained an Osteopathic Family Physician degree, specializing in Dermatology and Dermatological Surgery.
Certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology, Dr. Stathakis has participated in research for several drug companies, the University of Arizona and a three-year study of skin cancer in Arizona, focusing on prevention. He has been acknowledged for his service to the following: American Cancer Society, Arizona Department of Youth Treatment and Rehabilitation, Midwestern University, the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific, Maricopa County Adult Probation Department, and the United States Navy and United States Air Force (where he served as a medical consultant at Luke Air Force Base).
Family is a focal point for Dr. Stathakis with his free time, spending it with his children and grand-children. He also enjoys the outdoors with boating, hiking and fishing.
Deborah Mendelson, M.D.
Dr. Deborah Mendelson is a board-certified Dermatologist and Dermatopathologist who specializes in Medical and Surgical Dermatology, with an emphasis on the prevention and treatment of sun damage and aging. She brings experience, compassion and expertise to the treatment of her patients.
Dr. Mendelson received her medical degree and completed her Dermatology residency at Ohio State School of Medicine. Three additional years of Dermatopathology training were taken at Duke University and University of North Carolina.
Dr. Mendelson is a Diplomat of the American Board of Dermatology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.
Michael Richards, PA-C
Michael Richards is a native Arizonan. He grew up in Casa Grande and later moved to Tempe to attend Arizona State University. Midway through his degree, he moved to Chicago and transferred to Midwestern University where he graduated in 1997 with honors from Midwestern with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies. After graduating, he moved back to Phoenix, accepting an adjunct faculty appointment with Midwestern University in Glendale as well his current position with Dr. Laris at Phoenix Skin. Michael completed an intensive six-month dermatological residency administered by Dr. Laris and various other valley dermatologists. He has been licensed by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants to practice medicine since 1997.
Michael is a member of the Arizona Dermatology Physician Assistant Society, the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, the American Academy of Physician Assistants in Legal Medicine and the American Academy of Physician Assistants. Michael also serves as a preceptor to various physician assistant programs across the country, educating students on a regular basis. When he is not at work, Michael enjoys spending time with his wife and children.
Tana Frumento, MPAS, PA-C
Tana Frumento received her Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) and Arts in Bioethics from Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ. As part of her degree studies, Tana completed specialized clinical rotations in dermatology. Her formal medical training has included a focused dermatological training period under the direction of Dr. Lee Laris. Tana is also skilled at several cosmetic procedures including injections of Botox and fillers such as Restylane and Juvederm. Being an Arizona native, Tana has a keen interest in the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer along with educating sun safety and reducing skin cancer risk. She completed her undergraduate education at Arizona State University receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.
Tana is a member of the Arizona Dermatology Physician Assistant Society, Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants. She is also a preceptor for Midwestern University. Tana was certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) in 2006, and then became licensed to practice medicine in the state of Arizona under the supervision of a physician.
Katherine Azar-Haworth, MPAS, PA-C
Katherine Azar-Haworth received her bachelor’s degree in Biology from Westmont College in Santa Barbara, CA. She completed her physician assistant education at Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ where she graduated with a Masters of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS). During her master’s clinical rotations, she specialized in dermatology and surgery. Her formal medical training focused on medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology under the direction of Dr. Lee Laris. Katherine has been practicing dermatology with Phoenix Skin since January 2005. She is also skilled in numerous cosmetic procedures including Botox injections and fillers such as Restylane and Juvederm.
Katherine is a member of the Arizona Dermatology Physician Assistant Society, Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA) and the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA). Katherine was certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) in 2004. Outside of work, Katherine enjoys spending time with her husband and sons, traveling and hiking.
Elizabeth Walter, MPAS, PA-C
Elizabeth left her home-town of Portland, Oregon to earn her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Arizona in 2006, and now considers Phoenix her home. Elizabeth is a board-certified Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). She received her Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Midwestern University in Glendale. As part of her degree studies, Elizabeth completed specialized clinical rotations in dermatology at Phoenix Skin. Her formal medical training has included a focused dermatological training period under the direction of Dr. Lee Laris, including specialized training in surgical dermatologic procedures. Elizabeth also performs several cosmetic procedures including injections of Botox and fillers. She has a particular interest in skin cancer treatment and prevention.

Ha Pham, PA-C, MMS
Ha graduated Cum Laude from Midwestern University of Osteopathic Medicine in Glendale, Arizona in 2006 with a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science. He went on to earn dual degrees in Master of Medical Science and Certification of Physician Assistant Studies from Saint Francis University in Loretto, PA and AACC Physician Assistant Program in Arnold, MD in 2009.
Ha’s passion for dermatology began in 2000 when he worked with Dr. Laris as a Medical Assistant. After completing his bachelor’s degree, Ha moved to Maryland where he began Physician Assistant studies. Upon graduating in 2009, he returned to practice dermatology in Arizona. Since then, Ha has provided dermatological care all over urban and rural areas of Arizona such as Casa Grande, Yuma, Wickenburg, Mesa, Fountain Hills, Glendale, and Scottsdale. Ha return to Phoenix Skin Medical Surgical Group in 2016.
Ha is board-approved and licensed to practice as a Physician Assistant in the state of Arizona. Ha is certified by the National Commission of Certification for Physician Assistants and is an affiliate member of American Academy of Physician Assistant, Maryland Academy of Physician Assistant, and Phoenix Dermatology Society and Arizona Society of Dermatology Physician Assistant. He is also a national speaker for several pharmaceutical companies in the treatment of psoriasis and acne.
Ha is fluent in Vietnamese and enjoys traveling, sports, fishing and spending time with his wife and two children.
Jenna Yount, Licensed Aesthetician, Certified Laser Technician
Jenna grew up in Paradise Valley and received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Upon returning to Arizona, Jenna attended IMAJ Institute of Medical Aesthetics & Laser and completed extensive training in laser hair removal, Intense Pulsed Light, Thermage, microdermabrasion, and chemical peels.
Jenna enjoys developing treatment plans and customized home care regimens to help her patients achieve their skincare goals. In her free time, Jenna loves traveling around the world, skiing, and spending time with her family and friends.
McKenzie Kelly, Licensed Aesthetician, Certified Laser Safety Officer and Technician
McKenzie grew up in Sterling, Illinois and moved to Arizona to attend IMAj Institute of Medical Aesthetics and Laser. Upon graduation McKenzie worked for a well-known practice in the valley utilizing her advanced training on Lasers and Medical Aesthetics. She then worked for a large Medical Spa Corporation. In 2009, McKenzie returned to IMAj Institute to become a Licensed Aesthetic Instructor for the Clinical Laser Program. In this, she did extensive research on Laser Physics and Laser Treatments and became one of the first ARRA Certified Laser Technician Instructors in the State of Arizona. The most important aspect of being an Aesthetician to McKenzie is to make sure the patients understand and trust in her decisions to help their skin.
In McKenzie’s free time, she enjoys Skyping with her family back home and going for long walks.
Kaity Cole, Licensed Aesthetician, Certified Laser Safety Officer and Technician
Kaity Cole is also a proud native to our sunshine state Arizona. Leading up to her high school graduation, Kaity spent most of her time in the heart of Phoenix. Her education continued in North Scottsdale at IMAJ Institute participating in both the Advanced Aesthetics and Laser Training courses. In 2013, Kaity graduated from IMAJ Institute as a Licensed Aesthetician and Certified Laser Technician.
Kaity launched her career at Paradise Medspa working one on one with cosmetic lasers, she then proceeds to gain a wealth of knowledge and experience as the only Laser Technician and Medical Aesthetician at Camelback Healthcare. Now at Phoenix Skin, Kaity specializes in Xtrac Laser Treatments to treat Psoriasis and Vitiligo.
Kaity enjoys laughing, working out and skin care, but most importantly she loves making a difference in people’s lives.
Stephanie Heringer, Licensed Aesthetician, Certified Laser Safety Officer and Technician
Stephanie is an Arizona native from Scottsdale, AZ. In 2014, she attended IMAJ Institute, one of the most prestigious Medical, Aesthetic and Laser Schools. Prior to her establishment at Phoenix Skin Dermatology, she worked at a high-end, well-known Medical Spa in the Biltmore area. There, she exercised her advanced skills in cosmetic lasers and customizing aesthetic treatments for her clients. Stephanie now specializes in Xtrac treatments for vitiligo, psoriasis, and atopic dermatitis, as well as the Rebalance treatments for acne: red and blue light LED therapy, microdermabrasion and chemical peels.
In Stephanie’s free time she enjoys water sports, spending time with her son and loves visiting family in California where the beach is nearby. She is also studying nursing at Scottsdale Community College to further advance her knowledge and career in the industry.
