Cupid’s Bow

Cupid’s Bow

The cupid’s bow is the double curve on the upper lip, named for the shape of a bow and arrow carried by Cupid. The peaks and shadows of the cupid’s bow can change the look of a person’s lips, smile and overall appearance.

The “lip pop” or “lip flip” is a technique used by Dr. Laris to accentuate the cupid’s bow. By injecting botox into the left and right edge of the lip, it relaxes the muscle above the lip, causing it to slightly turn out. This makes the lip line gently roll out, and the cupid’s bow appear fuller and more defined. The bottom lip can also be injected to accentuate your pout.

The lip pop is a great option for patients who are not ready to try dermal fillers, but can also be a great compliment when used with dermal fillers.
