Neck surgery can improve the appearance of the neck by creating more definition of the angle of the jaw. Depending on the goals of the patient and the condition of their neck, Dr. Laris will decide which procedure to perform; liposuction, cervicoplasty or platysmaplasty. These procedures are often done in conjunction with each other or with the mini face lift to maximize results.
Neck Liposuction is a common treatment for chin and neck fat; it can give this area a new contour that enhances the effect of facial features and improves the profile.
Platysmaplasty reduces the banded appearance of the neck. An incision is made below the chin or behind the ears to tighten the skin and the underlying muscles in order to lift the neck.
Cervicoplasty eliminates dimpled or rippled looking skin and redefines the neck and jaw. An incision is made behind each ear, the sections of skin are trimmed and lifted into place and sutured, smoothing the neck from ear to ear.
