Phoenix Skin has the most advanced laser on the market for hair removal: The Cynosure Vectus
The Vectus Laser by Cynosure
The Vectus is a major advancement in laser hair reduction due to its speed, ability to treat any type of hair, and the added feature of a melanin skin reader. Skintel, an FDA approved melanin skin reader, evaluates the patient’s skin type, lifestyle and ethnicity. This enables our providers to choose the best settings needed for maximum hair reduction outcomes. Additionally, the Vectus Laser has an 810 nm wavelength that provides permanent hair reduction for the biggest range of skin types and any type of hair – brown, black and darker shades of blonde and red.* The Vectus is also very fast, removing hair from large areas such as the back or chest in five minutes, whereas older lasers would take up to 40 minutes.* Our patients report faster removal times with less pain and very little discomfort. Packages of 10 sessions are available for various areas of the body and prices are given upon consultation.
How Does Laser Hair Removal Work?
The hair has three cycles of growth. For laser hair removal to be effective, the hair needs to be in the anagen or “growth” phase when it is attached to the hormone & blood supply. The laser energy is attracted to the pigment or melanin in the hair and travels down the follicle to the blood supply where it impedes the follicle’s ability to continue hair growth. To ensure effectiveness of the treatment you cannot wax, tweeze or use depilatory creams during laser hair removal treatments. You do not have to let your hair grow out; in fact, we recommend that you do shave the day of your treatment. Some patients may experience redness and swelling around the hair follicle of the treated area anywhere from 20 minutes to 24 hours after a treatment, which is a normal part of the treatment process.* Makeup and sunscreen can be applied immediately after the treatment.*
How Long Does it Take Until the Hair is Gone?
10 treatment sessions are included in the laser hair reduction packages. Since the laser affects hair in the anagen or “growth” phase, and not all hairs are in this phase at the same time, it will take multiple sessions at 4-6 week intervals to see results. A gradual reduction of hair will be seen with each treatment.
Will All My Hair Be Gone?
Most patients experience up to 85% reduction. This means that you may still have some hairs at the end of your 10 sessions, but it will much easier to maintain. Certain pre-existing factors such as hormones, genetics, and medications can stimulate hair growth. Until these factors are assessed and treated properly, they can cause hair to grow back even after you’ve had 10 treatments. Our aestheticians can discuss this topic further with a free consultation
